Electric Ladyland has been the most well known and popular shop in New Orleans for over a decade. Originally opened Uptown by Ernie Gosnell, it was later sold to Annette LaRue, who opened the downtown location at 610 Frenchmen Street.
In 2012, Annette decided to retire, and passed the shop on to long time employee and client favorite Ed Dieringer. Ed renovated the shop and retooled the staff with artists that are talented, personable, and professional. We pride ourselves on doing tattoos that stand up to the test of time, as well as looking great when they leave our shop. We don’t do tattoos just to pad our portfolios with pictures of stuff that looks great walking out the door but looks terrible not long after it’s healed up. We know that tattoos should still look good 10 years down the road – and that’s why our clients are still coming back. We also feel that our work needs to meet a certain standard – and if it doesn’t, Ed does his best to make it right.
We also pride ourselves on our southern hospitality, and strive to make everybody feel at home. But enough chatter from us! What do the people think? We were voted “Best place to get at tattoo” by “Gambit” readers over 14 years in a row! We were also voted best in “Where Y’at” magazine! We’re in movies! TV! Magazines! Ask around! Everyone knows us as the original and premier tattoo shop on Frenchmen Street! We worked long and hard for all that love! We’ve tattooed celebrities, athletes, chefs. musicians, moms and dads, grandmas and grandpas!
Famous or infamous, it’s all the same – we just want to help you conceptualize and execute your best, first, or only tattoo! Our artists are certified, licensed and are waiting to make your tattoo ideas come to life!
