Frequently Asked Questions

[dt_divider style=”narrow”/]

[toggle title=”How do I take care of my new tattoo?”] By following this link to our care sheet. [/toggle]

[toggle title=”How do I take care of my new piercing?”] By following this link to our care sheet. [/toggle]

[toggle title=”Does it hurt?”] Most people say it’s more irritating than painful. Then again, some people wail like cats in heat. [/toggle]

[toggle title=”How do you sterilize your equipment?”] We sterilize our equipment with an autoclave which is monitored weekly by an independent lab. All equipment is individually bagged prior to sterilization and opened immediately prior to the tattoo. All ink is placed in single service caps and disposed of after each tattoo. [/toggle]

[toggle title=”How much does a tattoo cost?”] At ELT, there is a $50 minimum. There is no maximum, bring it all. [/toggle]

[toggle title=”Can you fix this or cover it up?”] I don’t know, can you hold it closer to the screen? We will be happy to consult with you at our shop. We cannot do consultations over the phone. [/toggle]

[toggle title=”Who is going to do my tattoo?”] You are more than welcome to check out everyone’s portfolio and request a specific artist, or we will set you up with one of our talented staff. [/toggle]

[toggle title=”Can I bring a friend?”] Absolutely, as long as they do not impede the process necessary for you to get a safe and good tattoo. [/toggle]

[toggle title=”Do you tattoo drunk people?”] No. [/toggle]

[toggle title=”Do I need to bring a design in myself?”] We have a gazillion designs in the shop, and are happy to do custom work as well. Please come in for a consultation. [/toggle]

[toggle title=”I have a “friend who is a good drawer”, you think he could apprentice with you guys?”] No. [/toggle]

[toggle title=”What’s the weirdest place y’all have done a tattoo?”] New Jersey. [/toggle]

[toggle title=”Have you ever tattooed… you know…”] None of your business. [/toggle]

[toggle title=”Can I get it smaller?”] Maybe – however, due to the nature of tattooing, designs have a tendency to spread out over time. Exposure to excessive sun and the area of the body can accelerate this process. [/toggle]

[toggle title=”Where’s the bathroom?”] Last door on the left. Wash your hands when you’re done. [/toggle]

[toggle title=”What are your hours?”] We are typically open from 12 noon to 12 midnight, Monday through Saturday, and 1 to 10pm on Sunday. We sometimes change these hours due to scheduling difficulties, special events, or artist’s whims. [/toggle]

[toggle title=”Do you tattoo feet?”] Yes, though we discourage it due to the fact that tattoos age terribly on feet, usually hurt more, and are more prone to infection due to feet typically being in a damp moist environment, like your shoes. [/toggle]

[toggle title=”Do you tattoo hands or faces?”] Typically, no. In very special circumstances, maybe. Come in for a consultation. [/toggle]

[toggle title=”Do you tattoo Minors?”] Absolutely not. We also actually look at the picture on your ID as well, so don’t bring your grandma’s old driver’s license. [/toggle]

[toggle title=”Do you take credit cards?”] You can charge tattoos, piercings and merchandise. [/toggle]
